This was the most un-Easter Easter I can remember. With life in the air and all the turmoil of packing all our belongings into a storage unit, it hardly seemed like Easter Sunday!
We had a really nice service at Chapman Memorial this morning, and it is hard to think about next Sunday will be our last. I am praying that God will guide the church on their search for a new youth pastor.
Tomorrow I will start the task of packing up my office. Good times. Pray that all our junk fits into the two storage units we have! It will be a miracle if it does!!

One more thing...
As though getting prepared for a cross country camping trip weren't tricky enough, we are also packing up all our belongings and either selling them or moving them into a storage unit. And one more consideration: we would really appreciate your prayers. I know that I have employment through July 31, but after that I am clueless. I am trusting God to provide for me and my family. I know that we are in Strong hands!
Well here we go...
It all started about 6 months ago. After feeling like God was releasing me from my ministry assignment, I started talking with my pastor about what I should do. We prayed. Then we prayed some more. We met every week to talk about ministry and to pray about the future of Catalyst and the future of the Croft family.
Through several divine circumstances, God provided me with an exciting opportunity to work for the general Church of the Nazarene. The work that I will be doing is so far removed from what I have been doing for the last 8 years that it should be a welcomed break from the routine. I am doing research for a new young adult church planting strategy.
Starting April 15 I will be under contract with the Global Ministry Center. The great thing about this position is that it does not require me to punch a time clock or work from a specific location. With that said, this is going to be the craziest summer ever!
We have sold both our van and truck to buy a Ford Expedition so we can haul a 24 foot RV. We will finish up our ministry at Chapman Memorial Church on April 7 and move out of our home of 5 years into the RV.
We will spend 2 weeks in Kansas City with my sister (Sarah and Andy Foster), then down to Sikeston Missouri to do some backpacking with Nathan Simpson, then down to Georgia with my parents for about a month where I will focus on doing research.
Around June 1, we will embark on a once in a lifetime adventure. Leaving from Georgia, we will head to Great Sand Dunes National Park(NP), Mesa Verde NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Zion NP, Death Valley NP, Yosemite NP, Yellowstone NP, Mount Rushmore National Monument, Badlands NP, Porcupine Mountains, the our great journey will conclude in Midland Michigan at my inlaw's home.
I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to travel this beautiful country and see God's creation at its finest. I am very grateful for the generosity of my inlaws for letting us take their camper all over the US.
This is going to be a summer to remember. The craziest summer ever.
